Worked example

UPS Daily versus Retail

  1. 1.18 × 18 × 12 = 3,888 in³
  2. 2.Daily: 3,888 ÷ 139 = 27.97 → 28 lb
  3. 3.Retail: 3,888 ÷ 166 = 23.42 → 24 lb

The same carton can produce different DIM weights because the rate type uses a different divisor.
