How to Calculate UPS Dimensional Weight

UPS publishes different divisors for U.S. Daily and Retail Rates. Here is how that changes the answer.

Choose the rate type first

UPS publishes 139 for Daily Rates and 166 for Retail Rates in its U.S. dimensional-weight guidance. Account contracts can contain additional rules, so treat the public preset as a starting point.

  • Measure the package at its longest points.
  • Follow current UPS dimension rounding guidance.
  • Divide cubic size by the rate-type divisor.
