Pallet Calculator

Plan a pallet from carton dimensions through loaded weight. ParcelCal compares normal, rotated, and simple mixed carton arrangements, then applies height and optional weight limits.

FORMULA
Cases per pallet = TI (cases per layer) × HI (layers)

The engine compares normal, rotated, and simple mixed carton orientations.

How this calculation works

The diagram is a planning estimate. Validate stability, compression strength, overhang, and facility rules. ParcelCal runs the calculation in your browser; no package or shipment information is uploaded.

FORMULA
Total cases = Best cases per layer (TI) × Allowed layers (HI)

The diagram is a planning estimate. Validate stability, compression strength, overhang, and facility rules.

Worked example

12 × 10 × 8 in cases on a 48 × 40 pallet

  1. 1.16 cases fit per layer
  2. 2.48 in available above a 6 in pallet allows 6 layers
  3. 3.16 × 6 = 96 cases

TI 16 × HI 6 gives 96 cases before any lower weight limit is applied.
