Pallet Stacking Calculator

Check whether height or weight controls a pallet stack. The tool stops at complete layers and flags the limiting constraint.

Check pallet stacking limits

Measurements are in inches and weights are in pounds. Use finished carton dimensions.

FORMULA
Cases per pallet = TI (cases per layer) × HI (layers)

The engine compares normal, rotated, and simple mixed carton orientations.

How this calculation works

A complete-layer calculation does not prove the cartons can safely support the load. ParcelCal runs the calculation in your browser; no package or shipment information is uploaded.

FORMULA
Layers = floor((Max loaded height − Pallet height) ÷ Case height)

A complete-layer calculation does not prove the cartons can safely support the load.

Worked example

Stack height check

  1. 1.Max loaded height: 60 in
  2. 2.Pallet: 6 in; case: 9 in
  3. 3.(60 − 6) ÷ 9 = 6 layers

The stack uses 60 in exactly; a lower weight limit can still reduce it.
